Description
MUSTARD SEEDS: Can be used as a condiment in a variety of dishes or roasted in a skillet first to bring out the natural flavors. You can also make your own mustard by softening the seeds in vinegar wine or water. Grind this mixture into a paste; add herbs and spices such as tarragon turmeric garlic pepper paprika or any other combination of preferred spices to give your homemade mustard its own unique flavor.  INTERESTING FACT: Dating back about 5 000 years Mustard Seeds are mentioned in ancient Sanskrit writings. They are also mentioned in the New Testament in which The Kingdom of Heaven is compared to a grain of mustard seed. It is believed that while the ancient Greeks used the seeds for seasoning dishes it was the ancient Romans who ground these seeds into a paste which is probably the ancestor of our modern day mustard. The physicians of both civilizations recorded its use as a medicine of sorts.
