Description
Butternut squash known in Australia and New Zealand as butternut pumpkin or gramma It has a sweet nutty taste similar to that of a pumpkin. It has tan-yellow skin and orange fleshy pulp with a compartment of seeds in the blossom end. Dehydrated vegetables maintain a high level of their nutritive value and can be used in a variety of recipes. To rehydrate vegetables combine 1 part vegetable with 2 parts water. Then simmer for about 10-15 minutes or soak for 1-2 hours. It is not necessary to rehydrate vegetables prior to using them in a recipe that requires cooking.
