Large Flowered Evening Primrose (Oenothera glazioviana previously Oenothera lamarckiana) -also called Redsepal or Magic Primrose – is a tall bushy plant with gorgeous yellow flowers that open in the late afternoon. The entire plant is edible: young leaves are a tasty cooked green; the flowers can be used as a salad or soup addition and the young seed pods are eaten as a fruit or dried seeds ground. The roots can be also dug up and cooked (preferably in fall/winter of the first year of plant growth) and have a peppery parsnip flavor. Seeds are certified organic.
