OVERVIEW: The Bridgestone Turanza EL42 RFT (*) is a touring, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. It is the original equipment model of select BMW vehicles.This tire was manufactured using Bridgestone’s run flat technology. The reinforced sidewall supports the vehicle’s weight after the loss of air pressure, allowing temporarily extended mobility for 50 miles and up to 50 mph. The tire was manufactured with a special heat-resistant rubber, which also adds to the model’s run flat capabilities.All weather traction and road grip are guaranteed by the symmetric tread design with the open-slotted shoulders. The lateral and circumferential grooves in the tread pattern eliminate water from beneath the footprint of the tire, efficiently resisting hydroplaning. The tire performs well in light winter conditions as well, due to the special siping design in the tread.The large rectangular tread blocks in the tread design provide great dry weather handling and steering response. This precise steering response makes the tire safer.
